A Garden Full of Beauty | A Senior Session at the UK Arboretum


Every senior session has its own personality, and that’s one of my favorite things about photographing seniors. No two sessions have to look or feel the same.

For this beautiful senior, we headed to the University of Kentucky Arboretum, surrounded by flowers, gardens, and beautiful natural scenery. It was such a different feel from a downtown senior session—and I loved it. There was something so effortless about photographing her among the flowers. The gardens gave us a soft, colorful backdrop while still allowing her personality and natural beauty to be the focus.

I love when a senior chooses a location that feels like her. Whether that means the energy and architecture of downtown, the open fields of Kentucky, a favorite campus, or a beautiful garden like this one, the location can completely change the feel of a session. Senior pictures don’t have to fit into one particular style. They can be elegant, playful, adventurous, urban, or completely natural. My goal is to create a session that feels personal to each senior and gives them photographs they’ll love looking back on for years to come.

This session at the Arboretum was a beautiful reminder of just how much variety we can create with senior portraits. 🌸
