I do not claim to be an expert, but if I’m being honest, I might just be able to with how many hours I spend with newborns and parents of newborns on a regular basis! So often during a consultation or maternity session with first time parents, the topic of must-have baby items comes up, followed by conversations of what items have been a god-send during their newborn sessions. After years of these conversations and having my own baby and grand babies, I’ve put together a list of tried and true, you-need baby items to include in your baby registry.

I remember how overwhelming it felt, the first time I created my baby registry for my daughter. I hope this list is helpful and provides some clarity on what is truly helpful while you put your registry together.

Side note: If you haven’t created your Amazon Baby Registry yet, do it now! You can send a link out to all of your family and friends during theses social distancing times.

Baby Shusher

I have this Baby Shusher in the studio, and I kid you not, half of my newborn parents purchase it during our session because of how amazing it is for sleeping babies. Perfect for travel – keep it in your diaper bag and you will forever love that you can help keep baby snoozing longer while away from home.... ps you may fall asleep as well- it's that AHHMAZING!

MAM Night Pacifiers

I cannot tell you how much I’ve invested in MAM pacis, but I promise it is a whole lot. My daughter was a paci-obsessed girl and MAM was her everything. At that time there was only ONE place in town to get them and that was at our local grocery store- (they cost me a lot more there than now on Amazon) These specific pacis are perfect nighttime pacis and they glow in the dark so that you can find them easily. (WIN WIN)

DockATot Deluxe+ Dock

This would have been a game changer for me, had I had it when my daughter was young. Many clients have brought their dock a tot along to sessions, and rave about it.

Boppy Bare Naked Nursing Pillow and Positioner

AND don't forget about the BOPPY nursing pillow and positioner.... they are a lifesaver, especially when they are closer to 3 month up... THE BOPPY is EVERYTHING! You can use it as a nursing pillow or as a positioner.

Graco Extend2Fit Convertible Car Seat | Ride Rear Facing Longer with Extend2Fit, Davi

I wish this car seat was available when I was a new mom. If (which is never happening, but IF) I ever had another baby, this would be the car seat I would use! I’ve seen so many clients bring it in and everyone has nothing but great things to say about it. So many babies HATE being put in their car seats- with this car seat your little one will be so comfortable they will not want to get out.... not to mention that it's lighter than most car seats making it easier on you to carry.

Muslin Baby Swaddle Blankets

Bamboo Cotton Receiving Blankets for Boys and Girls, these are soft, lightweight and perfect for keeping your little one secure.

Haakaa Manual Breast Pump

Portable, easy to use, and effective, this hand pump won’t let you down. Nursing moms that have used this while in the studio swear by it, it's comfortable, easy to use and easy to just slip in the diaper bag.
